With the 2866th from 1968 thru Jun 1971

Came across this site looking for anyone from the 2866th.  My name is Rick Hackett, left the air force only to take a job six months later as a C-130 radar technician at Richards-Gebaur in Kansas City.  It was an ART (air reserve technician)  civil service job with the commitment to the Reserves.  We moved to Whiteman AFB in 1994.  In 1982 we converted to A-10's and 39 years later I retired I am retired civil service and retired military SMSGT.  While at San Antonio I was an AC&W radar technician.  at some point the squadrons were change to E&I squadrons, I can't remember but I think we went to the 1851 E&I squadron but I'm not sure.

Re: With the 2866th from 1968 thru Jun 1971

Arrived at the 2866 about June of 69 from the 485th I was a 30471 Nav-Aids type and S/Msg. (maybe a Chief)Glenn Morris was the  Supervisor I was all over the country untill the comm Sq. over on main Kelly needed a Nav-Aids Supervisor and I jumped at that. I was with this outfit back in 56 when it was at Randolph. Did time with the 2nd Mob in France  then the Com. Sq at Cannon then back into GEEIA at Cam Ranh Bay  68-69 then Kelly I did not get one cent in travel pay from East Kelly to Main Kelly. I've gotta say I worked with some of the finest men in the Air Force while in the MOB and GEEIA
